coghost
I use JWHMCS to connect my WHMCS account through Joomla. So I tried to update to 5.3.3 but it crashed my site so I had to revert back. I hate to be left behind and could really take advantage of the latest release, so I am going to completely rebuild my site with the new version. Hopefully this will also clear up some math problems that I am experiencing with 5.2.17. I need to keep the old site online while I do this so my question is this, I was issued a developers license that appears to still be active on my account and I was going to setup and use that in a secure sub domain for my build and I need to know if there is any issues I may encounter when I finish and move it to the live site? Will there be a problem setting up my development site and changing the key to my paid key when I swap out the old for the new, or would I need to have a new key issued or what, I am not sure? Because WHMCS is in a sub directory under Joomla I am not sure how this will work? However I am going to maintain the same file setup I have now, same name and same folder levels for the working folders. Nothing is changing, the server and DNS is the same, just an updated site that works in place of the increasingly unstable version I am using now. From what I read on the licensing docs all I will need to do is login once the site is setup and navigate to "Help > Change License Key" and change the key. If this is all there is to it I am golden otherwise I sure could use some advice to minimize down time.
