Custom Payment Gateway

I was wondering how difficult it is to set up your own custom payment gateway for a gateway that is not currently supported by WHMCS?

 

I want to buy WHMCS but not without knowing if I can set my gateway up but seeing they will not give me the development pack with a trial or even a leasing licence I have no way of testing this.

 

Anyone able to help me out with some knowledge on this?

Very easy to do with just a basic PHP knowledge needed.

Incorrect, a monthly lease allows you to access the dev kits.

Thanks Matt for the update, I received a ticket yesterday saying the following:

 

"Sorry, we do not provide Dev kits to non license or lease owners."

 

Which worried me a little. i.e. I could not test until i paid for a full licence.

This means If you don't have a leased or own a license you can not get the Dev Kits.

I can see how that could be interpreted either way might want to rephrase in the future to "Sorry, we do not provide Dev kits to non license or non lease owners." Would hate to see WHMCS loose a sale for a simple misunderstanding.
