PHP Timeout During Installation

grindkore

Question

I’m attempting to install the latest WHMC version and having no luck on step 4.

After filling out administrator account info, the process hangs up on step 4. In the database I can see WHMC creates all the tables and populates some records. The page does not refresh and after some time PHP times out with standard “The specified CGI application exceeded the allowed time for processing. The server has deleted the process.” Error message.

We are running php on IIS6 (Windows 2003 server) and the MySQL database is hosted on Windows 2003 version 5.0.41.

Dear Support,

I am facing the same issue, I increased the timeout in the IIS metabase and after waiting for more than 30 mins, the browser was still hanging.

Searching through the Internet, it is mentioned that this may be caused because sendmail is not configured correctly. I checked the configuration and ran a simple sendmail script and it was working fine.

Please advice urgently since this is blocking the WHMCS from installation,

Best regards,

Moustafa

Unfortunately the WHM support only gave us the database dump of the demo setup without any further suggestions. The same environment we have installed WHM works just fine with the latest version of ModernBill. I would like to have a chance to fully evaluate WHM, but unfortunately this issue is preventing us from making it possible.

I get a feeling the WHM is 100% LAMP focused and is not interested in windows support.

Hi grindkore,

Thanks a lot for your fast reply, actually, I am also in the process of evaluating billing solutions and I faced this same issue with AWBS. Also installation is hanging after creating the tables in the database but also the support there were not successful in solving this issue,

WHMCS team, please assist us so that we don't remove your application from our evaluation,

Best regards,

Moustafa

Waw that was very fast, in less than 1 hr, WHMCS support has solved the issue.

The problem was simply that I had MySQL Strict Mode enabled, it should be disabled and this solved the problem.

Thanks a lot Matt for your professional and fast support,

Moustafa
