ikesmith
edit: apologies in advance, I had to improvise with the web addresses since I am a new user. The boards wouldn't let me create what looked like proper links as a brand new account. Hello All - Long time lurker, finally got the courage to make an account and interact. I help manage a small hosting group which primarily focuses on local businesses, friends, etc. We've run into an issue tonight that hasn't happened to us before. One of our clients has given a domain name to another client and we're not able to transfer the domain correct from what we can see. Maybe somebody can help. I will use fake domain names to protect the interests of these people if that is ok Client A has 10 or so domains with us. Only three of them are setup in cpanel and have directories assigned to them. Client B has 2 domains with us. Client A gave Client B the domain mywebsite.com. But the domain mywebsite.com happened to be the "primary" domain for Client A's account. We went into WHM and changed the primary domain by editing the account. We were unable to use one of the other two domains Client A had setup with us, so we chose one of the others at random. Put some files into the directory to test, and the new "primary" domain works. Then we went into WHMCS and "moved" the domain from Client A to Client B. And finally, we went into Client B's cpanel and setup the domain mywebsite.com as an addon domain. Now here is the issue... When we go to mywebsite.com, we redirect to the default cPanel website page. The one with orange at the top and a blue gradient background saying "if you feel you have reached this page in error, please contact the web site owner at webmaster@mywebsite.com" There are also directions for clearing dns cache. But if I go to www.mywebsite.com, it works. There are no weird redirects or anything like that set up on the domain at all. Been trying to look up help on the subject, but the information regarding this topic in WHMCS and WHM seems very sparse. Did we miss something in the transfer? Help! Thank you!
