bluehivehost
I'm running cpanel/whm with WHMCS. I want to setup a product which will allow somone to order a hosting account using subdomains. I want them be place the order using something like: anything.anydomain.com I don't want to insert subdomains into the WHMCS settings under Setup >> Product/Servcies >> Other >> Sub Domain Options as that limits the user to the domain which they can use. I want them to be able to setup something link blog.theirowndomain.com and purchase a hosting account for just that one subdomain. The reason for this is because we are developers on the BigCommerce ecommerce platform and BigCommerce does NOT offer a blog as part of their service. So we setup all of our BigCommerce clients with hosting using a blog subdomain such as blog.mydomain.com BigCommerce takes care of the hosting of the ecommerce component, but we would take care of the hosting of the blog on the subdomain. Right now when you have "Require Domain" ticked off in Setup>>Product/Services>>Edit Product>>Details tab it populates the box to type in a domain name www. [ENTER YOUR DOMAIN NAME] . [ENTER EXTENSION HERE] Is there ANY way possible to allow someone to come to the site an input blog.somedomain.com and let them purchase and provision the hosting package? I know this is possible directly within WHM. You can input blog.somedomain.com and it will create the account, but I can't figure out how to do it within WHMCS.
supportcall
Hi there have you had any luck with "reselling subdomains" Im also interested All i found was the following 2 options in WHM > Tweak Settings [Domains] -Allow users to park subdomains of the server’s hostname. [default is Off] -Allow resellers to create accounts with subdomains of the server’s hostname. [default is Off] Ive changed both and then tried to create a new account in WHM It creates the account with public_html, cPanel etc AND DNS entry but when try view the site I get a "Oops! Google Chrome could not find xxxxx.xxxxx.xxx" Hoping you might have had a better result as i would also like to look at being able to resell subdomain space to people who want it I cant see why it is not possible, other than purely a slight reduced income for other hosting resellers.
