Free Domain costs

===========DESCRIPTION===========

WHMCS Version: 5.2.8

 

Offering a product/service with an included free domain shows during the shopping and still in the cart the price, so the free domain have to be paid by the client.

 

=========STEPS TO REPLICATE=========

[1] Admin Area

[2] Setup > Products/Services > Products/Services

[3] Create a New Product

[4] Tab "Free Domain"

[4a] Free Domain: Offer a free domain registration/transfer and free renewal (if product is renewed)

[4b] Free Domain Payment Terms: One Time

[4c] Free Domain TLD's: .de

[5] Save Changes

[6] Client Area

[7] cart.php?gid=X

[8] Select "Order now >>" for the created test product

[9] Select the option: Register a new domain

[10] Enter the desired domain name, choose the test .tld ".de"

[11] Click the button: Check availability

[12] Click the button: Click to continue >>

[13] Now you are on: cart.php?a=view and should see the error

 

=======ADDITIONAL INFORMATION======

Work-Around ([2] = first free domain; [3] = for each additional free domain):

[1] Create a product bundle

[2a] Select "Add Another" for "Bundles Items"

[2b] Set "Type" to "Product/Service"

[2c] Choose the desired product for "Product/Service"

[2d] Activate "Qualifying TLDs" for the desired one(s)

[2e] Activate (Domain) "Price Override" and set it to "0.00"(Price Before Addons)

[3a] Select "Add Another" for "Bundles Items"

[3b] Set "Type" to "Domain"

[3c] Activate "Qualifying TLDs" for the desired one(s)

[3d] Activate "Price Override" and set it to "0.00"(Price Before Addons)

 

Feature-Request: Option for multiple free domains

Just a guess but the above appears to have conflicting arguments, i.e. (free domain if product is renewed) followed by a One Time cycle.

 

Have you tried selecting other billing cycles except the One Time option?

I also tried "Annually" but it doesn't work.

Some versions ago it worked correctly but it doesn't work anymore.

 

Seems for me to be a bug.

We have solved the problem by using for "Free Domain" > "Free Domain Payment Terms" the same Currency as is used under "Pricing".
