kgerber@creativeunity.com
Starting very recently we have found that administrators no longer get the Administrative dashboard when they log in - they get the client portal instead. Only one user can actually still get into the admin area - if they log in again from the client portal - they just don't get the dashboard. This happened the same day we did a long overdue update to our WordPress site in the root directory. I think it's the WordPress .htaccess file in the root directory that is responsible (since the admin dashboard is index.php in a sub-directory) but our hosting company says that's not the problem. Anyone have any experience with this issue or suggestions for resolution?
Alex - Arvixe
Is WHMCS & WordPress anyway connected (in terms of directories) or are they in separate directories? I don't think it is related to the WordPress update as it is redirecting you to the client area, not to the WordPress installation. Do you see the "Return to Administration Area" or something like that (In blue in the right top corner) in the client area? What happens when you click that?
kgerber@creativeunity.com
Wordpress is in the root directory and WHMCS is in a sub-directory of root. I can see the "Return to Administration Area" link - when I inspect it it shows that it's going to /admin/index.php but when you client on it, it goes to /index.php which is the client portal.
kgerber@creativeunity.com
I found out that WordPress and Better WP Security were responsible for the Update of WHMCS not being able to run. After disabling the plugin I was able to install the new version of WHMCS and then the update fixed all the access issues above as well. Turned the security plugin back on after and all is wonderful
