Auto Terminate/Fixed Term Remaining Days

Since WHMCS doesn't appear to have native free trial functionality, I'm having a really tough time figuring out the best way (or even a way) of doing this. I found a free trial addon in the appstore that seems to take care of the email aspect decently however here is what I can't figure out.

What I would like have is some sort of message in the client area indicating how many remaining days are left in the trial period. The issue is that even though I set the product's "Auto Terminate/Fixed Term" to 7 days, this seems to have zero affect on the product itself. If I make a test order of the product, there is no due date or auto suspend date attributed with the product at all (that I can tell). Without a suspension date to go on, I'm not sure how I could go about displaying such a message. Ideas?

I use a free trial module from the store, and it works from the start date

So i have a 14 day trial, so it works out the end date from the startbdate plus 14 days

It works well, excelt as you say, no way to show how many days before the trial ends..

It does however send a good number of email reminding them of the end date, and that should they wish to stay with us they will need to upgrade
