howardroark
Hello, My company is offering a service with two billing terms, 6 months and 12 months. We also want to allow our customers to try the service free for 30 days. I'm having a hard time figuring out what should be the best method to implement the above business rules via WHMCS in an automatic manner: _ I want my customer to be able to register 30 days trial completely free. _ On day 21 during the trial period, WHMCS will automatically create a link to upgrade from trial to 6 or 12 months and send that link to the customer. _ The customer can perform the upgrade anytime from day 21 to day 30. _ If the customer doesn't perform any action and 30 days are passed, WHMCS will automatically suspend/terminate the service and send notification to the customer. I have tried all the options provided by WHMCS, but was unable to find a combination of setup to implement the flow above. Please give me some suggestion.
And then there was one les
You will need to setup a fixed term product and a regular product, you can then setup the fixed term product to be free. You will then use the marketer to send out the email on the correct day with a link to upgrade the product to a paid version, in this email you should notify the client of their termination date of the trial product. If the client upgrades they will no longer be on the fixed term product and thus will not be terminated, If they dont upgrade then the system with the correct settings will automatically terminate the fixed term trial product. That is the simplest way i can see of doing it. Somebody else may have another way for you.
howardroark
Thank you for your response. One more question please: I want to include in the email sent to customers a special link that is: 1) Going straight to the upgrade order page 2) No login needed - login information is already embed in the link, customers will be automatically logged in Is there anyway to do that?
And then there was one les
I wouldnt want to do that its a security hole in the making. It would allow anybody who was able to click the link direct access to the clients account. The best solution i can think of, Which actually would (as a side point) be beneficial from a "phishing" stand point, All emails you send out contain absolutely no links what-so-ever, In this way, you can inform your clients directly on your website and in all email contact that you will never provide a link in an email, this way your clients can easily identify a spoof email because in order to phish they would have to contain a link that you never do. Back to the original point. The best way to have a client upgrade is have them upgrade from the product page. You can instruct them to visit your site and login. Any client that wants to upgrade will be happy enough to just login anyway.
