Which FREE trial addon?

Hi,

I need to create a free trial for hosting plans. I am confused about the different addons and do not know which is best for our requirement.

Here is what I need:

1. Be able to offer 30 day free trial on a selection of existing products.

2. Have the client account created but not billed and credit card details NOT taken.

3. As during the course of the 30 day trial period the client is sent reminder notices to activate their hosting plan (perhaps 3-4 notices).

4. If the client does not activate their product and pay for it by a the 30th day the client has a further 7 days to activate after which the product is automatically terminated.

Appreciate any guidance to the correct addon and/or how to achieve this.

Thanks!

Hi,

Not aware of a module to do this BUT: If you are set on a 30 day free trial (equal to a month or so) I'd recommend you simply create a coupon and automatically attach it (first month free coupon).

The link would be:

http://whmcs.com/cart.php?promocode=xxxxxxx

1. Be able to offer a 30 day free trial on selection of existing products: 1 month free, done.

2. Have the client account created but not billed and credit card details NOT taken: The card won't be billed ($0.00 to bill) but I think they would have to add their card details or select PayPal (not charged, will go strait to a "paid invoice"). A solution would be to add a message: Your card will not be charged for your first month

3. Settings -> Automation Settings - can be achieved here

4. Settings -> Automation settings - can be achieved here

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the feedback. I ended up going with http://www.whmcs.com/appstore/167/DMLW-Free-Trial-Addon-21-for-WHMCS.html

A specific product needs to be created with free status that can then be upgraded to whichever plan a person likes. It actually ended up satisfying the situation even better.

No credit card details are taken and we took a secondary step to avoid spam and fraud accounts by making a contact form on the site for people wanting a free trial account. This gives our sales team the opportunity to contact the potential client to make the process more personal (such is the nature of our business model). Either we phone them and/or manually process the trial account.

It was triggered more by the resistance people have to forking over credit card details when testing something out : )

Thanks again.
