Admin Area Display/JQueryUI Issue

Hello,

After upgrading from WHMCS 5.0.3 to 5.1.3, we've noticed some strange display issues that appear when using the Admin area. Browsers tested are Chrome (24.0.1312.56 m), FF (18.0.1), and IE (9.0.12).

Partial list of issues encountered:

  • The admin dashboard does not fully render (no AJAX loading, so no Income tally, no Attention Items, graphs, etc).
  • Dropdown menus non-functional
  • File upload to specific customers non-functional

The only error displayed in FireBug is the following:

TypeError: $(...).button is not a function
[break On This Error]

$( "button, input:submit, input:button, input:reset" ).button();

As far as I can tell, in some browsers, the remaining JS code is (sometimes) executed, in others, it is not, leading to a crippled UI. The behavior is not consistent even between the same version of browsers on different machines.

Searching on this error indicated a problem with the script finding JQuery UI. So, I re-uploaded includes/jscript folder (in case the UI file was corrupted or partially uploaded when I upgraded) and cleared template cache. I verified that my browser could file the jqueryui.js file, which it could, but no luck on the admin area rendering properly.

To resolve, I downloaded JQuery UI latest (1.10) and replaced the existing JQuery UI file. Then, performed a hard refresh in all browsers and it works in all versions that we have to test it on. So far, we haven't seen any strange effects as a result of substituting this file.

I haven't seen this posted anywhere else, so not sure if others are experiencing it as well. Is this something that the WHMCS team can reproduce?

Best Regards,

Remi
