Boggie
I upgraded to "Website payments Pro" through paypal. Could someone tell me if this was necessary. I wanted to have access to paypal's API so my clients do not have to be redirected to paypal to process credit cards. Thanks
0 PPH
A waste of time and money if you are wanting to use it with whmcs at least if you are referencing the US version. Feel free to vote for support here: http://forums.whmcs.com/viewtopic.php?t=5288
0 Boggie
Yes, I have purchased the US version. I was thinking it was required. Apparently not. Heh
0 PPH
Yes, I have purchased the US version. I was thinking it was required. Apparently not. Heh Well it would work nice for regular CC acceptance on site, but WHMCS doesn't support it. So please vote with the link I posted above to show Matt the #'s that would like to see it implemented.
0 Boggie
Yeah, i voted. So now im curious. My clients will now have to go to paypal each time and make a payment, or what? What will the process be for accepting credit cards? If you don't mind explaining
0 PPH
Yeah, i voted. So now im curious. My clients will now have to go to paypal each time and make a payment, or what? What will the process be for accepting credit cards? The only way to accept CC with Paypal will be paypal invoices, which they would have to pay each bill manually. Even with pro they would, but would never leave your site. The more expensive payflow will allow you to do the cc recurring onsite. It's $60 a month though. It's also supported by WHMCS. The other option is Paypal subscriptions and they could set their card up as a funding source for the subscription. Either that or a different processor.
0 Boggie
Hmmm? 60$ per month. Im on the Pro, and it's only 20$ per month. Which are you talking about that is supported by whmcs? Sorry for all the questions, i want to make sure Im on track
0 Boggie
Payflow........sorry, i misunderstood. I gotcha now
0 PPH
Yep, payflow is way too high at $60. Macscr suggested to use CDG and they look to be a viable and affordable supported solution. We were already using PPpro so it would have been convenient if the support in WHMCS was there.
0 hoosierweb
better recheck what you are paying with pro.. its $30 per month.. you could still use them and process the cards via the virtual terminal (using the module offline credit cards) PayPal does offer a very good deal when you compare your fee's all around.. ie American Express, buisness cards, etc etc.. are all charged one flat rate.. whereas the typical processor charge different % for each card.. and even more for business cards and such.. which makes it more difficult to know what a transaction is going to cost you ahead of time.. Plus with paypal pro, you have instant access to ALL the funds right away.. and be sure to sign up for their Debit Card, it will give you 1% cash back on any purchase
0 Boggie
Thanks for the info. Ill check it out
0 PPH
Yes in the end the actual charges are cheaper with Pay Pal pro and you have instant access to your funds. We were lucky and got in on the 1.5% cash back and also signed up for the money market and end up with even more cash back In the end our monthly fees are the only real expense. Not to mention no chargeback fees! Unfortunately, the only way to run them with WHMCS is by PayPal invoice (sends your user to the PP site) or virtual terminal for us
0 hoosierweb
oh yeah.. forgot about the money market.. also, no refund fee's.. they just refund what you were already charged
