summitwh
Hopefully this is the right forum area to post this... I have a hosting product with monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual prices. For my semi-annual and annual (new) clients, I would like to create a promotion that gives them the first month free. I have searched Google and found a few tips, read the common promotions and promotions documentation and nothing specifically for this that I can find. Experimenting myself, I set up "1freemonth" Type: Percentage Value: 100 Applies to and Requires (both same, selected the "Hosting - " plan Billing Cycles: checked Semi-Annually and Annually Checked Apply only once per order and Appy to new signups only Using this, I went to my site and registered for the hosting plan, semi-annually. The Shopping Cart shows my "100% One Time Discount" then the price is the full price of my semi-annual cost. It shows my Total Due Today is $0.00 (which is good) but recurring shows the semi-annual cost "USD Semi-Annually". What it looks like, to me, is I'm not going to be billed today (great!), but my next bill will be in 6-months for the semi-annual price (the recurring charge). Shouldn't it show that my next bill will be the semi-annual price minus one month? The Shopping Cart is confusing on this end...or I have my promotion setup wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike
searley
I would be more tempted to give 16.66% discount on the first 6 payment, meaning the customer pays for 5 months but gets 6
summitwh
Thank you searley. That worked. I created 2 promotion codes: one for the semi-annual first month free and the other for the annual plan first month free. They use 2 different percentages (16.66 and 8.33) but it works. One promotion code/offer for first month free would not work with both semi-annual and annual products? Thanks again, Mike
