DXD
Believe it or not right now I keep track of billing using an Excel Workbook with a spreadsheet for each customer. Is there a way to enter/import existing and historical data for my customers?
0 openmind
I did that when I first started up. Eight years later and the thought of using that method would make me want to die! You could probably import the data as a csv but you would most likely have to write your own custom script...
0 DXD
Well I am a developer but not of MySQL or PHP. I know plenty of C#/.NET and MS SQL so now I'm curious as to how much effort there would be. My original goal was to write my own billing program in .NET and MS SQL but I just don't have the time to do it.
0 openmind
Can't help you with the script I'm afraid as I'm a ColdFusion developer. I use Xero for my book keeping though along with a plugin for WHMCS that transfers everything over for me...

No problem may just have to get a monthly license and play with it, be nice if there was a trial. I just looked at Xero so now I'm curious to know why you use both?
0 openmind
Simple really. WHMCS is excellent at creating invoices and managing clients, domains, hosting etc but as an accounting piece of software it's a bit crap to be blunt. It may be OK if you haven't got that many clients but as soon as you get a hundred or so it really won't give you the same level of control as a dedicated accounting program like Xero.
