How to truncate {$breadcrumbnav}

In my sub title, i use

{$breadcrumbnav}

For have:

Portail clients > Portail

 

But sometimes its too long :

For exemple:

Portail clients > Base de connaissances > Tutos Video > cPanel11 > Comment créer des comptes FTP supplémentaires dans cPanel

 

if i use :

<h2>{$breadcrumbnav|truncate:100:"..."}</h2>

Dont work

 

is it a solution for limite this ?
