Domain Checker Issue

Recommended Posts

I have an installation of WHMCS which is hosted by eUKhost and I have root accces to the server.

While the Domain Checker can check .com, .org and .net without a problem, it has never ever been able to check .co.uk's, .org.uk's or .me.uk's

The php file is encrypted, so I don't actually know what the PHP file is doing.

The firewall allows TCP_OUT on port 43 and also after installing the software at phpwhois.org it also can't check uk's

Does Nominet use port 43? I don't know if it's a hosting issue or a WHMCS issue, anyone else had the same problem and know the answer?

Thanks

Typical I did a search before posting and couldn't find anything, and then I found this post

http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?63706-domainchecker-only-works-for-com-and-not-for-other-tld-s-please-help

I also have Setup >> General Settings >> Domains >> Bulk Check TLDs sorted

Is it possible that Nominet are blocking access to their WHOIS?

Firewall back on, and for some insane reason the WHOIS now actually works, I haven't a damn clue why, it hasn't worked for about 1 and a half years, or so!

If your having the same issue and use CSF firewall, I deactivated it, did a whois lookup, it re-added any firewall rules, and magically WHOIS checker now works!

Mental!
