SECPay & Checkout options

Terra

Question

We're looking for a recurring hosting billing system and have heard good things about WHMCS.

2 queries:

1) Are you planning to offer integration with SECPay (SECPage system)? If not, can we integrate it ourselves and if yes, can this be done in PHP?

2) Can we add additional steps to the order process to allow customers to choose additional services from a menu and if yes, how simple is this to add? (We sell a mix of services where customers can choose elements from a menu so we'd need customers to be able to select various services from different drop-downs, which are then billed together).

Many thanks in advance,

Edith

Hi,

We don't currently support SECPay although a few users have mentioned it recently when switching with the MB/ProtX issues. Definately something we can look into or you could develop it yourself/contract us to do it - and yes, that would be done with our dev kits in PHP.

As for the order process - it sounds like you could maybe use configurable options for that. So the user gets a dropdown of available options which they can add on to a product and then it's all billed as one item. You can take a look at those in Config > Products/Services when setting up a product.

Hi Matt - many thanks for the info! Will take a look at the product set-up.

With regards to SECPay - yes, we did consider Protx but after their abysmal performance over the last days, we won't use them. Also for recurring payments Protx requires the merchant to store CC details on the merchant's server which completely defeats the purpose of paying a 3rd party for secure card processing. With SECPay the cc details are stored on their servers and thanks to their one-page payment page, the 3D verification etc. is all handled by them - much less hassle. I think after the recent Protx fiasco, you may well see an increase in SECPay customers.

Hi Matt - I've seen you added SecPay to the payment modules. Can you confirm which type of integration this is?

PS: hopefully order will be on its way next week - work's been a bit hectic and the site upgrade got delayed.

Many thanks, Edith
