Custom fields, X_UsageUpdate and historical data

Hi there,

We have an internal REST API which provides power information based on customer rack location(s) which we are trying to tie into WHMCS - in order to bill customers for power utilization over their set threshold. I believe I can do this using a custom field and the UsageUpdate function inside an internal module bound to the dedicated server / colocation product.

However, if this is possible, how would we go about tracking historical utilization? Unless I have missed something, the bandwidth and disk counters as part of the 'tblhosting' table only allow for tracking of data for the current billing period. After the period has lapsed, and invoices have been generated, this data is then 'rolled'.

Is there a facility to allow for this information to be stored for recall later - so that we can provide the facility for customers to view historical power utilization without external scripts?

Has anyone come up against this issue before and found a work around? Or am I completely incorrect and missing something obvious :)

Regards,

P.
