registrar for .es domains

Hi Tracktor and Minerva

I would be happy to share this cost if anyone's interested. I'd be happy to contribute an equal share if there are say a minimum of 4 people. Hopefully 100 people will come forward and this will be cheap as chips.

Sorry to complain but the second topic wasn't really a duplicate because it was different subject trying to attract other users to help contribute to a new module. It had an appropriate title as well where as the title for this topic is still about .es domains. :(

I have also contacted 12register to see if they are willing to pay for it.

Good idea!

That topic has been removed and this one moved. There's no need for a duplicate.

Matt, could you move this topic to the 'Feature Requests' subforum?. And if you can change the title to:

12register.com module for european domains

Or something like that...

Thanks.

No. I emailed yesterday but I have not heard anything yet. It's a shame there's no more interest from others. I'm getting a bit frustrated because I want to get this working ASAP. I have a suggestion. What about the three of us going ahead with it anyway and then we have these options:

1. If 12register come back to us and say "Yeh no worries, we'll pay for it" then we'll get our money back and every man and his dog can use it.

2. If they say "No", then we'll have to bite the bullet  BUT if in the future other people want it, they will have to contribute say $50. Once we have a total of 10 people including ourselves then we allow anyone to have the module. I do not know the normal protocol for releasing custom modules to everyone for free but I can't help thinking there are people unwilling to contribute at this stage because they feel a freebie will be available soon.

What do you think?

Matt - Is it normally frowned upon when people keep custom modules for themselves? Would you be happy with this arrangement?

I think that if we pay for the module it will be available for everybody in next release. Matt should confirm it...

  • WHMCS CEO

With modules if it's wanted by many then it's added to the general release but if it's only a select few who want/need it then it's done as a custom job. In this case, demand isn't great enough for this module to warrant being done as a standard module so if you paid for it's creation then it would be yours to do with whatever you want - whether that is keep it for yourselves or share it with others. One thing you can't do though is advertise it for sale on the forums.

Email from CEO of 12register.com today.

We are currently developing the module, we hope to be offering you this within the next 3 weeks.

Result! It's great to come across a CEO who's still in touch with his customers' needs.
