0 WHMCS CEO Matt Posted August 6, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted August 6, 2007 Resellerclub is DirectI. So yes, WHMCS will work with it using the DirectI module. And the AWBS import does work also. Matt
0 4uh
ok thanks, Sorry to be a pain but can you please clarify that you have specifically written the import script to import domains from AWBS that use the "Resellerclub" module? Its quite a new module and seperate from the Directi one.
0 WHMCS CEO Matt Posted August 6, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted August 6, 2007 It doesn't matter what module a domain users. WHMCS imports all the domains - module or no module.
0 4uh
Ok thanks, How does WHMCS know which regsitrar to use ?
0 4uh
I'm presuming that WHMCS knows what registrar to use for the imported domains ? Or do these have to be set manually per domain once the domains have been imported ?
0 4uh
More questions... When the domains are imported - does it take into account failed transfers ? Is there a facility to migrate packages ? Example... We have hosting plans A B and C - I might want to delete plan A and set all customers using plan A to use plan C instead.
0 WHMCS CEO Matt Posted August 7, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted August 7, 2007 Yes, WHMCS knows which registrar to us. No, it doesn't take into account failed transfers (not sure what that is anyway). And no, there's no facility to migrate packages but that be easily handled if you open a ticket with us for it. Matt
0 4uh
Hi Matt, thanks for your reply. In AWBS, when a transfer fails, the domain has a type of "transfer" and a status of "Failed". So these are all domains in the system that have failed to be transferred to us. Of course, the customers have paid to transfer them but in most cases the domain wasnt unlocked at their previous registrar or they didnt provide a correct EPP key. We inform them that the transfer failed and it is up to them resubmit the transfer from within their accounts or to contact us to have the transfer request re-submitted. We have nearly 200 failed transfers in our system. Can the import move these domains over ? I'm guessing it will but they would be treated as current ones and invoiced when due for renewal, even though they are not with our regsitrar ?
0 4uh
Also, Will it import unpaid invoices?
0 4uh
Does it retain the billing frequency - i.e monthly / annually for each package and keep the next billing date ?
0 4uh
Additionally, back to Resellerclub... Can you confirm that once the domains have been moved over to WHMCS - that the customers will be able to update their domain's contact details ? I'm sorry for asking all these questions but its very important to me that the transfer goes smoothly - otherwise we wont be able to move to whmcs, which we very much would like to do if possible.
0 WHMCS CEO Matt Posted August 8, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted August 8, 2007 The import imports servers, products, clients, hosting accounts, domains & invoices and wouldn't be much point if it didn't keep their correct billing cycles and next due dates. And yes, editing domain contact details is a feature of WHMCS. I recommend you just give it a try and see for yourself what it does. The answers to these questions will be pretty obvious once you've done that. Matt
0 4uh
Ok, Just a response on the failed transfers please if you would be so kind.
0 WHMCS CEO Matt Posted August 8, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted August 8, 2007 It's going to treat those as regular domains I would expect if their status is active in the awbs database. Like I say, try it and see.
