Affiliate system questions

Howdy everyone. The affiliate system documentation is somewhat limited so I have some questions that hopefully aren't too obvious.

 

Say I have clients who order multiple accounts from time to time with me for their clients.

 

1. Can I tie those extra accounts to them so that they're paid as if they referred themselves to me? (Thereby creating a sort of discount for customers with multiple accounts)?

 

2. Can I go back and do that now, or can that only be done on future purchases?

 

3. If future, do they need to click on their referral link before placing their order to ensure it gets connected or is there a referral field that gets activated on the order form that they can use?

It's easiest if they sign up using the referral link, but can be added to the affiliate by viewing the order through the admin area.

Affiliates do not earn commission for signing up themselves. You would need to manually assign the order to them once received if you wanted to do that. You can assign accounts that have already been purchased previously in the same way - from the order details screen in the admin area, click the Affiliates tab towards the bottom of the page and choose the affiliate you want to assign the order to there.

ahhhh I guess I misunderstood. I was thinking they were ordering the accounts in the customers name for which they wanted a referral.
