SaaS project - is WHMCS a good fit?

pat_ads

Question

Hi all. I've done my homework and read a bit on these forums. However my project needs a bit of explanation for the correct advice.

We are launching a software product (point of sale) which resides on the local machine and the database resides as a hosted SQL database (currently on GoDaddy). Our software is free for the first 30 days, then requires a monthly subscription to continue operation (access to the database). Also, the software comes in 3 incrementally priced versions, each with more features than the other. We are looking for a solution to integrate with a WordPress site that would allow new customers to:

1) Download a the software and generate a 30 day trial license, setting up the customer's user name and login for database access;

2) Allow for customer to go to website to upgrade software to one of 3 paid versions, making the appropriate change to the customer's account;

3) Allow for resellers to sign up customers, for a revenue sharing model

4) we also want to sell hardware in various configurations, so I think we need WHMCS to be able to be compatible with some sort of ecommerce plugin?

Aside from the 3 above items, there is another issue - our software is a point-of-sale solution so in some cases the account will be limited to one register and on other cases it is multiple locations with multiple registers. So we need to be able to check the account level on product launch and get that information from WHMCS.

Does this scenario sound like something that WHMCS could handle?

Can anyone point me to any site that can help me find an affordable WordPress developer to help with this project?

Thanks in advance!
