WHMCS + Opensrs + .au Domains

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Wondering if I can get some advice / guidance... We use WHMCS, we're an Australia web host so most of our domains are AU registrations which require customers to enter in business registration details (like company name and business number).

My main problem at the moment appears that no matter what, the business registration information isn't correctly passed to Opensrs. For example WHMCS has 4 fields:

Registrant Name:

Registrant ID:

Eligibility Name:

Eligibility ID:

Eligibility Type:

For whatever reason if we have Registrant Name and Registrant ID entered only the name and eligibility type is actually submitted to the registry this could cause issues for our customers.

Second issue is sometimes WHMCS isn't adding the domain info to mod_opensrs so the domain is not manageable from our installation. We manually add the records when this happens in the database. Tucows also have an option called "cookie bypassing" which doesn't require the "manage.opensrs.net username and password".

Is anyone else having issues like this? Has anyone created a custom Opensrs module to fix these bugs? I feel like i'm hitting my head against a brick wall, I just want domain registrations to work as expected, and I'm happy to pay a premium to the registrar which can give me the least amount of grief (we make a loss on domains to pick up the hosting business so it's important to us this just works).

TL;DR - WHMCS domain registration brooked, are you having the same problem? Do you have a custom module?
