Logic behind coupons and package upgrades

Tech Entrance

Question

Hello,

I need to ask few questions about coupons and package upgrades because i'm new to WHMCS

About coupons

1- Can i make a coupon that makes me define the next billing date ?

What i need to do sis to give the customer the 1st month free then the customer have to pay after than

if i make a coupon that gives the customer the ability to get first time payment free, then he can apply for annual payment and gets 1 year free instead 1 month

2- Can i choose if i will make any coupon for new customers only or existing only or both ?

About package upgrades

1- If a customer has paid for a package for 6 months or a year and after 3 months he decided to upgrade, does he get the credit from the old package to use in paying for the higher package ? how does this is being calculated then ?

That's it for now...

No, you create a coupon that does a 100% one time discount and set the coupon to only apply to the monthly billing cycle.

No

Yes, he gets credit for what isn't currently used and then charged a full term on the new package.

Thanks for the quick reply - can i ask for feature request for 2nd question ?

about question 3, so the customer gets his new invoice with only the needed money to pay (total new package minus the unused from old package) ?

PS: is there a credit system that users can pay in advance to credit their account so future invoices are paid automatically from the account credit ?

Just one more question, how can customers add credit to their account and choose it to be their default payment method ?

I'd assume that one month when they get their invoice, they pay you say $10, and say the invoice was for $5 then you enter the $10 amount in to the "Add Payment" section and then they'll end up with $5 credit which I'm guessing (correct me if I'm wrong Matt) will be used as credit for the next payment automatically?

There is not a separate area for clients to just randomly add credit though, but you can manually add a payment to their account i.e. they pay to your Paypal address and you Add that payment.

Credit doesn't get added automatically for an overpaid invoice - you add credit to a clients account from the profile screen in the admin area. Automatic credit adding on an overpaid invoice is on the dev tracker for implementation.

It will be also nice if customers can add credit in advance to use in their orders instead of making payments every time they make a new order
