Adding a text box to a configurable option

Hello

 

Please can anyone tell me if its possible to add a text box to a configurable option.

 

Here is what I'm trying to do

 

We have a drop down that is a config option

 

saying free migration and the 2nd option saying new connection.

 

If the free migration is selected from the drop down i need a text box to appear so they can add a migration code. if the new connection is selected there would be no text box that would appear

 

please can you tell me if this is possible and how i would do it

You could wrap so JavaScript around this pretty easily jQuery comes to mind...

 

Depending on what template you are using the jQuery framework may already be loaded on your page and you just need to add a few lines to make this happen.
