Multiple subdomains options, with whois!

Hi,

based on an idea from a friend I developed a way to implement multiple subdomains, and the greater: with subdomain reservation and subdomain whois lookup, with no manual interference: it brings data directly from whmcs! Just upload a file to /whmcsfolder/ and edit 1 line in a whmcs file.

a "registered" subdomain: forum

(in this example, only one subdomain extension is available, but you can use as much as you need)

It's a shame this script was stopped. Or more so the owner was apparently trying to sell the addon.

I do sell subdomains also and this would have been really terrific.

So if the owner decides to add this as a free addon I for one would be very grateful.

It was nothing special, he was just selling information that you can set the subdomain options up in Configuration > Domain Pricing as regular TLDs.

WHMCS already doesnt let users register domains that are already in the system, so that issue is solved as well.

UM, maybe someone can help me with this one.

I have just found that it will let me re register an existing subdomain, that yes, is already listed in the accounts.

I'm sure there was an option somewhere to ensure this could not happen, but I can not find it again to check that it is ticked. I think that is though.

This is the problem. Subdomains aren't considered as domains when ordering, because it doesn't need to be efectively registerd through a registrar.

And an important info was removed from my first post: i'm just intended to sell this because i REALLY need some money at this time, since my daughter born last month, and i'm spending cash more often and imprevisible than normal... otherwise, i NEVER will ask for cash.

Then, lets start..

1 - Go whmcsrootfolder/includes/ and open whoisservers.php. Insert at end:

3 - upload subwhois.php to your whmcs root directory

4 - go to configuration > domain pricing and add a new domain TLD: .yoursubdomain.com

Select 'None' or any registrar you doesn't use and haven't configured (you may or not charge for subdomains)

Done.

If you already have hosting accounts over subdomains, this will search for those, too.

I'd recommend you disable built in feature for subdomains, even you don't charge for it, since customers can now order hosting selecting your subdomain in "I want Your Company register a new domain" option, the no need to the aditional "Use a free subdomain" option - this will turn your whmcs administration a bit confusing, because you will then have accounts with and without the subdomains "registered" as regular domains.

Thanks brasiweb a lot.

However unfortunately the script is not entirely working correctly.

I have 3 domains I sell as subdomains and I have set them up individually in the whoisservers.php file and that part all works correctly.

However it seems it's only accurately reporting subdomains that are registered with a regular hosting account also.

Not subdomains that are also registered individually, even though they are all setup and attached to the appropriate account/s.

EG: One of the subdomains I sell is .ctry.biz

One of the accounts I have is called countryhub.biz

Under this account I have a large number of subdomains all pointing to the one location, example roma.ctry.biz

When I test this subdomain (roma.ctry.biz) in the Add Order, it tells me it's available. I also tested a number of other names and the general functions and this information was confirmed in each case.

I hope this explains it enough and you can clear this up.

You understand $mysubs doesnt need to be changed, right? If these domains are registered to a hosting account in whmcs, then the script will catch the info from database... then try this:

erase $mysubs

$mysubs = array();

at end of includes/whoisservers.php, add:

The only thing I had not done was change this

$mysubs = array();

(was just now looking at it this line).

So have done this now and still get the same response, all subs are available except ones that are registered directly with a hosting plan.

.ctry.biz is a separately hosted account as are the TLD's I'm using for subdomain option.

Your example "home.ctry.biz" was originally setup through a cpanel or WHM I don't recall specifically now (to long ago) but no it/they do not have there own hosting accounts.

The whmcs I have only just installed a week ago, so imported all WHM accounts then Added the subdomains to my main account via the Orders > Add New Order, option in whmcs.

I found the problem with this script why it was not find the Subdomains properly.

The reason was, when it was querying the database it was looking in the wrong table.

It was looking in "tblhosting", when it should be looking at "tbldomains".

As not all Sub Domains are associated or registered directly to an actual hosting account.

With out this code WHMCS does NOT stop registration of already used subdomains.

Here is the updated code, if anyone else would like to use it.

All previous instructions are correct.
