marksnj
Hi, I'm using 5.0.3 and it is just great. I am having a problem with creating quotes and maybe my settings are off. Is there a way to include add-ons and configurable options withthe quote? From what I see, I can only add a product from the drop-down, but I am not seeing the add-ons or configurable options there. Thank you, and I appreciate any help you can provide.
uberhost
Is there a way to include add-ons and configurable options withthe quote? From what I see, I can only add a product from the drop-down, but I am not seeing the add-ons or configurable options there. No way that we could see through trial and error or by reading the documentation. This feature is useless to us in its current form. It may be fine for hosts that specialize in packages (like shared hosting for instance), but we sell dedicated and VPS servers with lots of options. What I'd like to see upon clicking "Create new quote" is a screen just like the client's side order screen, that way we could click through the options quickly to create a configuration. Once that part is saved then WHMCS displays the quote in the same way it does now, but filed in and with the ability to add more lines. In addition to the above I'd like to be able to add options and alternative configurations separately as well. I'm thinking that the "Choose one or enter a custom description above" drop-down menu should also show all configurable options, that way you can create a base quote including the options requested by the client as well as additional options that they may not have considered. As an example, we'll receive RFQs (Request For Quotation) that do not mention whether a control panel is required. Rather than delay the quote waiting for a client's answer as to whether they need this or not, it would be more efficient to have the base quote include only what was asked for and then break out some additional options on the lines below the base quote. Another thing: It's slow and irritating to have to click "Save Changes" for each line added to the quote. Let me press ENTER to complete the line and open a new one. The program can invisibly save a draft each time I do that. For lines requiring carriage return/line feed (CR/LF) within the body of the text, just give me a key combo like SHIFT-ENTER. Pressing SHIFT-ENTER would give you the CR/LF instead of moving you to the next line. This is the way Facebook works -- when posting a comment on someone's wall you press ENTER to post the comment is or SHIFT-ENTER for a paragraph break. One nit: The unit price and line total should automatically update when the quantity number is entered and TAB is pressed (or the user clicks into another field). If these features were implemented in a future release it would really make the quotes feature useful. Rick
