lahatte
I'm trying to migrate my old web design clients into whmcs. I've tried the Utilities > cPanel/WHM Import and the clients will import but how do I get their billing active and working with automation such as suspend, etc..?
laszlof
You'll have to manually go through and setup their packages, payment information, contact information, etc. Once all that is done, and linked to the accounts that were created from the import, automation tasks will be automated by the cron job for WHMCS.

Thanks laszlof... So where is credit card info entered?
SilverNodashi
Thanks laszlof... So where is credit card info entered? There where it was stored previously WHM doesn't store billing info, only server account info. So you would need to import that info from your previous billing application, or Excel spreadsheet
lahatte
I'm confused... Where do I import that? I don't see an option to import credit card info... I currently have all their credit card info in authorize.net... Also, is there a way to manually re-enter credit card info?
laszlof
You cannot import credit card data. (at least not easily). You could probably write a custom script to do it, but there is no pre-made solution. If you dont have many clients to enter, after you import all the WHM accounts, create the clients; you would go into the client details and click the "Credit Card Information" link. Here you can enter the card details. However, are you using Authorize.Net CIM? If so, it may be a better idea to write a small script to add all of the gatewayid's (tokens from authnet CIM) to your clients. That would be a much better solution, and would not require you to store the actual credit card numbers on your system.
lahatte
My thinking was that WHMCS had authorize.net CIM module integrated and all I had to do was enter the customer's credit card info in the WHMCS admin and it would sync up and start communicating with authorize.net CIM storing the credit cards on their system... Am I wrong in my thinking? I was hoping for an "Easy" button! Ha...

You might have to wipe the customers from authnet CIM first if you plan on manually reentering them. This solution will work fine if you're not talking about thousands of clients. If you have that many, you're better off writing a script to insert the gateway id's into the WHMCS database for the existing authnet clients.
lahatte
luckily it's about 15 clients... and we will be using a new authorize.net account... we started a new company and are transitioning clients from the old company... So all i need to do is import their sites from whm/cpanel then manually enter their card info using authorize.net cim? Also, will i need to set up an "Authorize.net" AND and "Authorize.net CIM" for new clients? My thinking is to use "Authorize.net" for one time payments and use "Authorize.net CIM" for reccuring.. or am I thinking about this wrong? Will authorize.net cim handle both one time and recurring? Thanks!
laszlof
You should be able to use Authorize.Net CIM for both, but one time payments will likely overwrite any existing card they have stored for recurring payments.
lahatte
so if they purchase a product it needs to have the one time payment as a "Setup Fee" and the recurring as the "monthly" to avoid problems? So for example, we sell them a web design and hosting together...
laszlof
You can create products as one time payments or recurring, setup fees are completely separate and can be included with either configuration.
