Jordan
I recently decided to change a few things with whmcs. Currently I'm using it on a subdomain, and decided that I wanted to set it up as it's own domain. Not only that but I went ahead and got a new license for it for various others reasons... Anyway, I originally wanted to just go ahead and manually enter in the information from the original install of whmcs, to the new install to just clean up a lot of old information that I really didn't need but couldn't part with on the old install. But I am way too lazy to do that, and was wondering how I would go about using my old whmcs database, with this fresh install. Is it a matter of just replacing the current tables through phpmyadmin, or is there another option that I can try out?
Adam
Hey, All you need to do is copy the database (if you are moving servers) or just leave the same database information. Upload the same version of WHMCS (as your old install) and use the came configuration.php file. Delete the install folder and login to WHMCS Admin Area. Change the product URL to the current domain. You should be good to go... From, Adam
SpookedOut
Make sure that you keep hold of your database and configuration file.

I originally exported the tables from the original site, and then imported them in the new database, but apparently they were overwrote when I did the new install of whmcs. But I'm going to see if dropping all of the tables, and then importing them, will make a difference.
Jordan
Hey Adam, that method you gave me didn't work too well. It went through just right, and performed as an upgrade; But upon trying to login the password was incorrect, so I then had a password e-mailed to me. For some reason, it then claimed I logged in 4+ times and then banned my IP. Not only that but it kept forwarding me to my old installation. I figured that maybe changing the values in the correlating table would make a difference, but that didn't. Anyway, the easiest way for me right now, is doing each table that I want to transfer, separately. I just drop the new table, and then import the new one. Works like a charm =)

Jordan
Yeah, I'm already finished with it anyway But I'm sure I just made more work for myself, and just complicated things when it was probably a lot easier than I made it
