WHMCS CEO Matt Posted October 21, 2011 WHMCS CEO Share Posted October 21, 2011 WHMCS V5.0 Client Area First Look In previous weeks we've revealed some of the new features, then we covered a few more, then we revealed the big news that the upcoming version would be a milestone release - V5.0 - then we had a look at the enhanced developer functions and so this week it's the turn of the client area. Version 5.0 will see the introduction of a brand new client area design, introducing a fresh clean and up-to-date new look, completely rewritten to take full advantage of all the developments and improvements made to WHMCS in recent releases. It's been written from the ground up, making full use of includes and CSS to reduce code replication and make customisation simpler than ever. Built based on the Bootstrap CSS framework from Twitter, consistent styling, colours, and a navigation bar supporting both full width and fixed width implementations makes the new design both look great, and be flexible enough to be integrated into almost any design, while still standing up perfectly well as a standalone portal design without any integration into the rest of a site. So without further delay, here's a few preview screenshots... Both current templates/styles will still be included and supported, at least for the forseeable future, but as of V5.0 this will be the new default client area styling for new installations. Beta Status Update The beta testing is continuing to go well, generating lots of very useful feedback & ideas. So far, everything seems to be running as smoothly as ever, and means all the meticulous work we put into the development and testing prior to the beta launch is paying off with a reliable and stable new version. But that doesn't mean we're done, we're still focusing really hard on improving the new features & ideas that are in V5.0 yet further and so we aren't announcing a definitive date for the new release, suffice to say it will be released as soon as it is ready, and that will be within the next few weeks.
