rbro
Just signed up for the free service offered through WHMCS. I've never used it before, so I'm not sure what initial settings to use. What's a good starting point for fraud risk score? Any other tips for the initla settings? Also, will a blocked order still be available for me to review and activate if I decide it's "worth the risk"?
rbro
I set the fraud score at 7, just to see what would happen and got a fraud order with a score of 7.53. It gave me detailed fraud check results but also said "maxMind configuration error". I emailed maxMind for help with this as well, but anyone know what this means or what I should do?
SpookedOut
rbro: I believe it's because you get so many credits per month? I know I get this error all the time.
rbro
rbro: I believe it's because you get so many credits per month? I know I get this error all the time. Well this was my first time using it and it did return a fraud score. That's why I'm confused. Still waiting for a reply from maxmind as well.......
SpookedOut
I know this probably sounds silly, but you have you double checked that all the license information is correct?

I would imagine there would be no fraud score at all if there was some license error, but I'll double check it.
rbro
OK, I finally got a reply from Maxmind: "Thanks for using minFraud. I'm glad we caught your first fraudulent order. Yes, we believe this IP address is an open proxy which resulted in a high risk score. All of the other data was consistent. The configuration error isn't one we pass. WHMCS should know about any configuration problems. I'd check there first." So the license info is correct and apparently it's essentially working, yet WHMCS is passing on that configuration error. Anyone know why?

WHMCS CEO Matt Posted June 20, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted June 20, 2007 Oh ok, and it says nothing after it like all the others. So that means no error occured. No problems there. Matt

But why does it say: MaxMind Configuration Error?
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted June 20, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted June 20, 2007 Because that's one of the fields that can be returned from MaxMind just like all the rest are. There's no error shown though so it shouldn't concern you. If you get an error, it will show up there. Matt
