How do I change billing frequency/interval?

Hello all,

Here's my situation. I have a hosting package that I offer monthly or annual payment options for.

For the monthly option I charge a 1-time "set-up" ($12.50) plus a monthly fee ($12.50/month).

For the annual option I waive the set-up and charge a discounted monthly fee ($120.00/month).

I have set-up a client on the annual deal and the system has generated an invoice for the $120.00 as it should.

The problem is this....

The client wants to change to the monthly option.

I tried the "upgrade/downgrade" but that didn't get rid of the original invoice ($120.00) and didn't generate a new invoice for the correct amount ($12.50 + $12.50) of $25.00.

Short of delete all orders and the client and starting all over (I would like to avoid that if possible), what is the CORRECT way to handle this?

Thanks,

Presumably they are separate products so this is the method I use for a manual change of product (where upgrade/downgrade cannot be used)

Lets call them A monthly and B annually, and is currently on B annually

First change the current product, and this will change it to A monthly

Next click on the Auto Recalculate on Save and Save Changes button

Now, go to the original invoice for B annually and set to Cancelled

Select Orders -> Add New Order and recreate the original order, but now with A monthly

Thanks for the suggestion. The hosting package in question isn't set-up as 2 separate "products" (i.e. Basic Monthly and Basic Annual). It is a single "product" with 2 different payment frequency options (i.e. Monthly and Annual).

So, it doesn't appear that I can use your solution because I have not "monthly" product to pick from the list and change to.

Any other suggestions?

Cheers,
