need merchant account before purchasing WHMCS??

my biz website is going to be completed very soon and i plan on purchasing WHMCS soon after.

 

my questions:

 

1) i will be having whmcs do the config etc for me for this purpose do i need to get my merchant account before buying whmcs

 

2) paypal -- do people paying thru paypal go thru whmcs or its a different link all byitself?

In answer to your questions:

 

1. No, you do not need a merchant account before you have us install and setup your WHMCS system for you.

 

2. Yes, people who want to pay by PayPal go through exactly the same order process in WHMCS as anybody else.

I am planning to have WHMCS installed on a DIFFERENT server from where my webhosting site is installed.

 

My web designer is still working on the design.

 

At some point for example client login from my website has to communicate with WHMCS?

 

 

Does my webhosting site need to be totally complete for WHMCS to be installed on an other server and to be totally INTEGRATED with my webhosting site?

 

( and i can sign up for paypal **later** AFTER WHMCS is installed?)

No, WHMCS comes with a default template. You can use that.

WHMCS doesn't require a gateway for it to be installed, you can install WHMCS setup products, clients and get PayPal anytime.

pardon my newbee questions:

 

But where does the default template need to be installed and what is it for ?

 

Also I have a icon on my webpage which says "client login" -- this is supposed to link to an other page with SSl certificate -- where should this lead to ?

 

How does one start the signup process -- is this independent of WHMCS -- do i have to ask my web designer to install signup forms for hosting packages purchases?
