How To Use Hooks

Really new at this but wondering how do I use hooks, where do I place the code, I am trying to use the Free Trial Hook.

Thanks very much for the help, sorry for the delay.

 

I have the Free Trial in the /includes/hooks/ folder but how do I use it, do I put a code somewhere that customers can get the free trial.

 

Sorry but really new to this and trying to figure it out.
