OAuth Pro 1.2

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone!

We are really excited to release the latest version of OAuth Pro!

OAuth has been long known to give you a more secure version of the default WHMCS API. And OAuth Pro has been used by many to extend that functionality to their clients!

One major thing we hear from people time and time again, what API can we give to our clients? I don't want this information or that information to be available to any client. Till now the solution was simply build a new API script. This seemed rather impractical in a lot of cases since the API already existed to do what needed to be done. This is why we are rolling out two great new features!

We have began this major update with adding in programmable hooks to allow any developer to add to the basics of OAuth Pro's security on any API function! The hooks allow you to program in checks that the client has permission to edit this domain or upgrade that hosting plan of theirs through the API. As well as allow you to change those error messages into whatever you'd like!

The next thing we did was make use of these awesome hooks! We have individually gone through the majority of all WHMCS API functions and added security checks to all of them.

So now you can give your clients access to all the great WHMCS API functions without the hassle of worrying about security!

  • Some API functions are simply not meant to be used by your clients.
  • You should preform manual tests of the API using a client key before allowing any client access to any specific function. This is just to make sure your clients can't access or preform restricted information or actions.
