Is it possible to change Configurable Option later for client account?

Let's say I created a Configuration Option by quantity type. The customer selected "3", but later decided to change to "1" or cancel this option one and for all, can this be done easily so it will automatically calculate discount the fee for the upcoming month?

BTW, to avoid confusion, will try to explain giving more details:

 

I have created 3 different plans:

 

1. Basic: Configurable Option quantity set from 0 to 4

2. Plus: Configurable Option quantity set from 0 to 9

3. Advanced: Configurable Option quantity set from 0 to 19

 

Because the same Configurable Option has different max quantities per plan, I had to create 3 different Configurable Option Groups. So I would like to know if the customer can still change these options when upgrading/downgrading the hosting plans.

 

I see that

 

Settings > Product/Service > Customized Hosting Plan > Upgrade

 

there is a checkbox option called "Tick this box to allow Upgrading/Downgrading of configurable options" will this do the trick? Or should I create a single configurable option so it can be applied to all different plans in order to work?

You would use that tick box to allow Upgrading/Downgrading so long as the other two example products are highlighted to be able to do so. If they are not highlighted, whmcs wouldn't know which package to upgrade or downgrade to.
