joe@x5creative.com
So I'm building out a custom membership site. Its rather unique, but somewhat simple at the same time. In a nutshell, members pay to become a member of my site. Once paid, they get their own subdomain website. Im using the cpanel module to create free accounts (xxxx.mainsite.com), and it works great - however I'd prefer if I never show the "choose your domain" dialog prior to purchasing. Now I figured the "easy" way to do this is to simply hide the domain name selection input, and use jquery to populate + process the form. The user would never know it existed. The problem is I cant figure out how to show that input on the checkout page (as it currently displays prior to checking out). Alternatively, I suppose I can build an action hook that does it all on plain ole product. Finally, a bit more info, this site I'm developing technically sells hosting accounts, but the users wont ever know it. They wont ever get hosting access, however there will be an interface to allow them to customize their website. Hope this makes sense - any suggestions on the best way to go about this? Thanks in advance!
