custom name server

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Hope some one can help me here.

Im new to hosting my reseller server.

Have got everything up and running ready to go.

Wanting to do things as professionaly as possible Im wanting to use my own name servers (with my domain name not my hosts) for when clients want to use there own domain so I dont have to use my hosts ns, but for the life of me I cant seem to get them to work.

Maybe I cant do what I want ,maybe Ive dont it complety wrong.

This is my setup

I have an unlimited reseller/master account.

I have my own domain.

I have entered the ns1 and ns2 from my host into my dns at my domain host and parked my domain on my server.

My domain worksfine.

Ive enterd ds1.mydomain-name.com into the A records of my server via WHM

they show

ns1.mydomain.com 14400 A and the ip of my hosts ns.

While Im here, anyone know of a free forum that would link into WHMCS

Do you mead add them to my A records on my domain register?

Ive removed there ns names and put my hosts into the dns.

When I goto the A records it says I have readd there names before I can add A records

So do I have both name servers in the dns?

Then add A records for ns1.mydmain.com + ns2 with the hosts ns ip on my domain register?
