Escalation applying to closed support ticket

I opened a support ticket recently with the ticket CC'ed to a client. Since then I closed the ticket, however every four hours I get an email, that is also sent to the client advising 'Sorry we havent gotten back to you...'

 

I have re-opened the ticket, Answered it and closed it again to see if this corrects the continual escalation.

 

Is this something that anyone else has encountered?
