xeqution
This is not a bug.... name servers are never organised "in order"...
SilverNodashi
This is not a bug.... name servers are never organised "in order"... I don't quite agree with that statement. When you talk about "First NameServer", it's abbreviated "ns1", not "ns3"
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted May 30, 2011 WHMCS CEO Share Posted May 30, 2011 I think xequition was talking about when it comes to domain registrars. Both Enom and ResellerClub say the order does not matter and that their API's will not return the nameservers in any particular "order". Hence the reason for this display. SilverNodashi
so how come the order was correct in previous versions of WHMC? Was that an accidental bug then, if this isn't a bug?
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted May 30, 2011 WHMCS CEO Share Posted May 30, 2011 WHMCS only displays to you the order they come back from the registrar's API. So if it's changed it would be on their side. But like I say, we have asked, and both Enom and ResellerClub advise the same that their API's don't return nameservers in any particular order, so it could be any order they return in.

Exactly, and that is what I meant - when name servers are returned from the registrar there never returned in the format they have been inputted in.
