Gregg
Hello, Apologies if their is already a topic on this (after searching I didn't find anything and I wasn't all that sure what I would sure to find specific results) so feel free to delete this if there is another topic/thread i can be linked to. Now.... When I download the .php pages which came with the standard package and open them using Dreamweaver they appear as a page of letters and numbers.. , are you not allow to edit standard page or im I opening them with the wrong program? Alot of the text with the pages I do not want / I want to edit and some headings I would like to change (a prime example is that I would like to re-order the register fields) etc.. but I can't do this due to the fact that I do not get WYSIWYG interface when opening with Dreamweaver MX. Hope you's can help me on this one. One other thing related to the opening of script...how do I open .tpl files and what do they contain? I was thinking maybe this is what I needed access to, to edit the pages, but I don't know what to open them with. Thank in Advance. SpookedOut
The pages are encoded using IonCube (by default) and or Zend Encoding, which explains the mixture of unusual characters (which is actually the php made secret if you like ) . This is in place to stop people editing the files.
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted May 18, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted May 18, 2007 You open the .tpl files using your regular HTML editor. They are just regular HTML files and are the template files which you should be opening to customise your site. But as I suggested in your ticket regarding this, for text changes you should edit the English.txt language file in the lang folder.
