How to test Authorize.net?

Hi Guys, Ive been doing some searching on a few questions I have and seem to find a straight answer on this. I apologize if these are primitive questions or if Ive somehow missed the documentation on this. Im trying to test but I keep getting credit card declined when using the test cc #'s. Also, when I log into any authorize.net (test account or my account) I never see any transactions.

My questions are:

1. Should we be testing with an authorize.net test account (sandbox.authorize.net) or should we be using our real account (account.authorize.net) in test mode?

2. If we should be using the authorize.net test account, should that account be in test mode or in live mode?

3. If using authorize.net or authorize.net cim module in WHMCS, should the module be in test mode?

4. When using the test credit card numbers, are we supposed to use a specific address?

The test credit card numbers I received yesterday from Authorize.net are:

- American Express Test Card: 370000000000002

- Discover Test Card: 6011000000000012

- Visa Test Card: 4007000000027

- Second Visa Test Card: 4012888818888

- JCB: 3088000000000017

- Diners Club/ Carte Blanche: 38000000000006

Ive tried testing American Express, Discover and both Visas but as mentioned above I keep getting credit card declined. I would like to test Master Card but apparently no test number was provided for master card.

Thanks!

I'm having the same exact issue. I've created probably about 10 different authorize.net test accounts. lol I don't know what is going on. We just came from WHM Autopilot, and they actually had a box where you can specify the url to authorize.net the default was http://HTTPS://SECURE.AUTHORIZE.NET/TRANSACT.DLL I switched that URL to http://HTTPS://TEST.AUTHORIZE.NET/TRANSACT.DLL and BAM! It worked! But we gave up on that reseller, and our current reseller gave us WHMCS (Which is way better) the only problem is, the authorize.php file is encrypted, and I cannot change no URLs for this.
