Missing custom fields in add contacts

i tried adding

 

<table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="10" cellspacing="0" class="table">

         {foreach key=num item=customfield from=$customfields}

         <tr>

           <td width="150">{$customfield.name}</td>

           <td>{$customfield.input} {$customfield.required}</td>

         </tr>

         {/foreach}

     </table>

to clientareaaddcontact.tpl but with out any result.

 

the custom fields for registering users should also be available for adding contacts.

 

anyone know a way to achieve this:?:

Custom fields are for clients not contacts so that won;t work. Custom fields aren't supported on contacts.
