connecthosting
Hi everyone I've been running WHMCS for a few months now and suddenly I am getting Internal Server Errors. It worked last night but today I can't access this type of URL: http://connecthosting.co.za/portal/admin/clientssummary.php?userid=132 All of the other pages are working - just once I click on a client's name to bring up the summary, it gives this error: ---------------------------- Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@connecthosting.co.za and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Apache/2.2.14 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.14 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 DAV/2 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at connecthosting.co.za Port 80 ---------------------------- I haven't changed any configurations, except for changing file permissions to 755 as suggested in some other forum posts on the topic. I added the line "$display_errors = true;" to the configuration.php file (also suggested in other forums) but the error hasn't changed - I'm not sure if there's anything else I was meant to do except copy that line into the file. I'm really at a loss now... Any help would be greatly appreciated!
ckh
You need to check the server logs to see what the error means. 500 server error can be a number of things, permissions being one of the things.
connecthosting
Hi there In cPanel, I only get error logs and access logs (I don't have root access) - is there another way I can get more detailed error messages? This is all I'm getting from the error logs: [Tue Mar 29 13:28:54 2011] [error] [client 196.210.255.159] File does not exist: /home/chcoza/public_html/500.shtml, referer: http://connecthosting.co.za/portal/admin/clients.php [Tue Mar 29 13:12:34 2011] [error] [client 65.52.49.139] File does not exist: /home/chcoza/public_html/404.shtml [Tue Mar 29 13:12:34 2011] [error] [client 65.52.49.139] File does not exist: /home/chcoza/public_html/robots.txt [Tue Mar 29 12:43:45 2011] [error] [client 196.210.255.159] File does not exist: /home/chcoza/public_html/404.shtml [Tue Mar 29 12:43:45 2011] [error] [client 196.210.255.159] File does not exist: /home/chcoza/public_html/favicon.ico
ckh
Quickest way would be to ask your host to check the server logs then and see what is causing the 500 internal server error message.
