Logged-In username in an Admin Module

Hi,

 

Is there anyway to get the username of the current logged in Admin in a custom admin module.

 

I tried to print the $_session variable but it only contains the ID in adminid.

 

How can I extract the username?

You can use the admin ID from $_SESSION['adminid'] to select the current admins name directly from the database.

 

$adminName = mysql_fetch_array(mysql_query("SELECT `firstname`, `lastname` FROM `tbladmins` WHERE `id` = '".$_SESSION['adminid']."'"));

 

Than output the details like so;

echo $adminName['firstname'].' '.$adminName['lastname'];
