PowerDNS

Hi!

Years ago I was a enthousiast supporter of the Mysql-based PowerDNS-DNS-server.

On al the webhostingpanels I used over the years, Plesk, Cpanel, LxAdmin, etcetera, their was no support for PDNS.

So when I implemented WHMCS acouple of months ago I wrote an addon, so that the users can administer their DNS. I also wrote an admin plugin that does the same for all the domains being hosted on the servers.

So, I would like to know if anybody is interested in this addon. If so, I could release it.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Hi Hub,

I managed to get the powerDNS working for WHMCS from the following thread.

http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?t=24776&highlight=powerdns

I wish there's more things can be done for the module such as suspend function.

It will be great if you can refine it better and save some of your development time.

Thanks!

Charles

I'm very interested. Please let me know if you release it.

Thanks. The first release will take a week or so.

What does it do right now?

It puts a link to 'My DNS' in the header, only if a client has domains registered with you or did pay for a DNS-hosting service.

User Interface

- Displays a list of the domains the user can edit

- He can edit, update en expand records

- The interface is multilingual

Admin interface

- The Sysop can see and edit the records of all domains

- He can sort on user, etcetera

Todo:

- Currently when a user signs up at our company, another script generates the DNS-records, before registering the domain. But if you want to sell DNS-hosting, users should be able to add the records theirselves. So I will add that button.

- In the admin section wil will a a config menu for default values.

Any whishes?

I think I've found a bug with this. It won't list the domains although the count is correct. This is the error in the error_log file.

HP Warning: mysql_fetch_array() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in
