Resold / Reseller Accounts

zippohosting

Question

I have resellers - who sell my hosting packages...

1. I normally create a package that only the resellers can sell.

2. I put a price on that package for the reseller - lets say $5 - that I charge the reseller every month if that package is used.

3. The reseller then puts his own price on the package $10 - that he charges the client every month.

4. The client - end user - gets a welcome letter from the Reseller and Invoices from the reseller - the system uses his information.

5. The client - end user - never knows that "I" am alive.

So, I need a system that I can charge my resellers for hosting packages that they can mark up and charge their clients for. This is all on the same server - the reseller sits on my seller but really sells my packages.

Thanks

Hello zippohosting

WHMCS I think can meet your requirements.

WHMCS is very flexible and easy to work with. I personally reviewed numbers packages before i made the selection to go to WHMCS and i am glad I did.

to do what you want you have a few options but here is one (high level)

1) products and services and create your products

2) set the price and the plan

3) create a promo code for each reseller specifically or per your requirements

4) Select Welcome letters for each specific resellers

when he orders the products for his customers he punches his promo code and the welcome letter goes out

I am not 100% sure how to add the reseller logo to that specific welcome letter.

Well, I am not sure this works...

1. When the reseller logs in he should see a list of all his clients.

2. When the reseller logs in he should see a list of all the domains for those clients.

The reseller is the one that charges the client - monthly, yearly - whatever.

I would charge the reseller - monthly - yearly - whatever...

zippohosting,

What you specifically are trying to do cannot be currently done in WHMCS. This would require a few changes, possibly even the group pricing feature we have requested.... Additionally, it would also require sub-accounts, which we have also mentioned in a feature request.

In WHMCS, you will find that it perfectly handles hosting reselling, when you are offering it in conjunction with CPanel and it's reseller capabilities. This means that they (your reseller customers) will have a reseller account on your server, and sell within the means that you set.

Otherwise, a remedial way to accomplish what you are asking, would be to allow your resellers to subscribe to hidden packages and add each package at the price you specify. You would provide a link to your resellers to the specific packages. When they log in, they will find all of their, and resold hosting plans listed in the hosting section, along with any domain names and other products. The only downside, is that by default WHMCS would be incapable of storing the end-users name for each of the resold accounts. (Actually another feature suggestion I made concerning address collection, could possibly remedy this with a few template customizations).

Anyway, it is possible with some customization to actually store additional information about plans in a separate table, ultimately allowing you to track what you want, despite some manual intervention.
