nokia2008
Just purchased license. I am using Protx. Is it possible to add support for Switch (Maestro) & Solo cards? Also, where do I put the password for the payment gateway? Thanks for your help in advance.
0 Dominic
No password needed - you just enter your vendor name in whmcs and then add your server's IP in the Protx admin panel

0 velocity
Likewise, I would also like to know that I can use Protx and process UK debit cards before I buy.
0 brianoz
As far as I know, if they act like normal credit cards and can be processed like normal credit cards they'll work just fine. In Australia debit cards are treated like credit cards. In the US as far as I know the only difference is that pre-authorisations take longer to clear from the card.
0 s1rk3ls
I think it's a matter of semantics... the same thing may be called different things in different parts of the world. In the US, we have Debit cards, Check cards, and Credit cards. Here's how I understand it - correct me if I'm wrong... A strictly "debit card" cannot be used for online purcahses, these can only be used at physical point of sale where the user must enter a PIN code to authorize the transaction and the money is debited from their account immidiately. A "check card" also pulls money from the users checking account, but has a visa or mastercard logo allowing them to use them anywhere those are accepted (including online) without a pin. The money is typically immediately taken out of the users account (or at least held as an authorization until the vendor finalizes their batch or a few days, whichever comes first.) A "credit card" is a true credit card (visa, mc, discover, amex, etc) where they have a set credit limit they can charge up to and must pay back the bank or credit card company (with interest)
0 Adamski
In UK we have debit and credit cards Credit cards are just that (Visa, MC, etc) like yours with set limit etc etc UK Debit Cards are like your check cards. Can use them online or in store, cash machine, and they carry either a Visa Debit logo or Maestro logo (MC Debit). If you are physically present you input your PIN. These cards also act as cheque guarantee cards - securing a check up to a certain vaule. Nomrally £100 or £250. Our debit card "switch" is the same as maestro just with a different name.It is being phased out and replaced with the Maestro one. We also have Electron and Solo cards that aren't worth the cost of the plastic to produce them. They are like the debit cards but with no cheque guarantee. Many places don't accept them though. 0 velocity
Now that we've ascertained the meaning of our terminology here, are we any closer to the answering the question? I.e. is there a Protx payment "module" and if so can you process Switch/Maestro & Solo cards with it?
0 Adamski
Yes there is a Protx module. No it doesn't support switch and solo. Have you tried opening a sales/suppor ticket to get an official reply?

No, I'll do that now. Thanks. **edit** Response is: Yes, we are implementing support for this with the new required card fields in our next release in the next few weeks. Looks like a result. Fingers crossed it is only a few weeks.
