More detailed error message on authorize.net cc decline

I am using authorize.net. When my client attempted to pay his bill he got the error message:

# The credit card details you entered were invalid. Please try a different card or contact support. #

When I log in to Authorize.net, it tells me this:

Authorization with the card issuer was successful but the transaction was declined due to an address or ZIP code mismatch with the address on file with the card issuing bank based on the settings in the Merchant Interface

I need to be able to relay that information to the client in the error message, is this possible? I used {debug} and did not see anywhere where the information is available.

I understand exactly what you mean. I don't think that the error messages can be tailored to the specific error that is returned from the gateway. At least it can't with a custom gateway and is always the same general declined message you describe. If you are using the included Auth.net module then it would be up to WHMCS to trap the responses from the gateway and display the proper error response based on the reason it was declined but it looks like they have only provided only one decline message that is supposed to cover every situation.
