How to create an invoice due in the future?

We're moving from one billing system to WHMCS.

Lots of customers have already paid.

I've imported all of the customers from WHM using the WHM import function, so everyone has a free account.

How do I set an account to start billing at a recurring rate starting four months from now? Do I have to wait until the bill is due to create an invoice?

You change

  • Billing Cycle set to recur at whatever your cycle is
  • Set the due date on the product details page. This, in your case, will be four months from now.
  • TO THE BEST of my LIMITED knowledge, WHMCS ought to generate the invoice automatically WHEN the due date come about. You can manage the 'when to gen invoice' within WHMCS

Good luck!

As a side note:

After my experience of importing customers from WHM/Cpanel, I wish I hadn't. If the customer base is not big for you to do it manually, then doing it manually is preferred.

Then you can add an order, and take everything from there. With imports, I am still confused as to EXACTLY how to treat invoices and billable items etc.

A couple of 'invoice overdue' notices to already-paid customers later, I realized that the way I treated Orders, and Invoices, is not how WHMCS would! Duuh!
